• Renewal Trust formed as part of City Challenge Exit Strategy.
  
  

• Local survey of residents to assess support for a Trust - 95% Supported the idea and 34% were interested in being actively involved.
  
  
• Steering Group involving local people and City Challenge Board members established in 1996.
  
  
• 2 Community conferences held and Community Representatives elected in January 1997.
  
  
• Trust registered as Company Limited by Guarantee in March 1997.
  
  
• 18 - full directors comprising: -
  6 Community Representatives.
  6 Private Sector Representatives.
  6 Public Sector Representatives.
  4 Co-opted Members.
  
  
• Mixture of ex City Challenge Board Members and new people.
  
  
• Formally operating from 1st April 1998.
  
  
• Launch activities May 1998 - Launch took place on 20th May 1998 - A large community fair was held on Saturday 20th May in the Sneinton Market area. Stalls from local community groups attended.
  
  
• Anticipated funds - in excess of £1000,000.00 per annum: -
  £120,000.00 of S.M.E. grants fund
  £250,000.00 rolling loans programme for small businesses.
